Caritas PNG, in collaboration with the National Catholic Education Secretariat (NCES) and the Social Communications Commission, hosted the first ever Tech Talk in celebration of World Youth Skills Day on July 15 at Don Bosco Technical School.
The event featured a panel discussion divided into two sessions, bringing together technical education service providers and industrial recruiters. Panelists included representatives from the NCES, La Salle PNG, Josien Training and Consultancy, Steamships Trading Company, Coral Sea Hotels, and Total Energies. A Q&A session followed the panel discussions.
The audience comprised media representatives, guests, and CPNG partners such as the Building Community Engagement Programs (BCEP), along with students and staff from Don Bosco Technological Institute, Don Bosco Technical School, La Salle Secondary School, Maino Heduru TVET School, Caritas Technical Secondary School, and Mary Help of Christians Technical TVET and FODE Centre.
We would also like to acknowledge our media partners EMTV; Tribe 92 FM; and PNG FM for their presence to cover our event today. A special thanks to Radio Maria who covered the event live on radio and assisted in streaming through our Caritas PNG Facebook page. Next Steps: Caritas is now working to synthesise information generated during the event to circulate among those who participated and other key partners and organisations.
